The company was established in 1986 under the name of Royal Homes, located in Poulsbo, Washington. Royal Homes is a very successful company, home-based in Yakima, Washington with locations throughout the state. In 1993 Royal Homes decided to downsize and the Poulsbo store was sold to their longtime partner, Chuck Turpin, who has been working in the industry since 1971. He changed the name to Golden Homes, Incorporated and continued to operate very successfully in the Poulsbo location. Golden Homes, Inc. continued to grow and to become #1 in the sale of Silvercrest homes.
A large percentage of the home sales were in the Sequim, Washington area. It was natural then to open a second store in Sequim. Chris Hansen and Paul Holt were both working in the area in manufactured home sales and were looking for an opportunity to invest in a company with a quality product and a customer-oriented service philosophy. In 1998 a partnership was established between Chuck, Chris and Paul to open and operate Golden Homes, Inc. of Sequim. |
